Abstract

This small collection documents some of the activities and history of the Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles. Included are minutes from meetings of the Committee on Aging during the 1960s, when the Freda Mohr Center for the elderly was opened; a notebook describing the history, activities, programs, and administrative functions of the agency; and a dissertation from USC's School of Social Work that examines the history of the agency.

Abstract

Letters, photographs, ephemera and a large scrapbook created and collected by Mary ("Mollie") Stoddard, president of the Los Angeles Florence Crittenton Home in the 1920s. The papers document the Home, and Mollie's personal and philanthropic pursuits. Mary ("Mollie") Wilcox Stoddard (later Mary Wilcox Hurd) was born in Placerville, CA in 1870. Mollie was a long time supporter and president of the Los Angeles Florence Crittenton Home.
